This spring, SPM Instrument will be installing the Intellinova online system on a Vestas V90 wind turbine outside Umeå Harbour in Holmsund in northern Sweden. The V90-3 MW is Vestas’s largest turbine currently in production. Owner of the windmill is Kvarkenvinden1, an economic association founded in 1997 presently running three windmills.
Intellinova is a high performance online system for monitoring rotating machinery. The system, measuring shock pulse and vibration, is developed for the special conditions of condition monitoring in the windpower industry. The installation is scheduled for March 2009 and will be SPM’s northernmost installation yet.
